About the Role:
The Research Coordinator will provide administrative support to the MED-EL Clinical Research team through maintaining and organizing study documentation, processing grant payments for ongoing trials, and supporting research department initiatives. The ideal candidate is an organized and focused go-getter who is interested in learning more about clinical research and the processes surrounding innovation and discovery in our space.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Hold responsibility for organization, maintenance, and accuracy of departmental records for assigned studies.
  • Maintain working knowledge and communications records of study progress with study sites and all involved stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, guide, and assist with the study start-up process.
  • Prepare and communicate required investigator documents and/or other support documents.
  • Facilitate collection of required documents, approvals, study reports and financial information.
  • Maintain working knowledge of study site readiness for enrollment.
  • Review incoming site documentation for completeness and accuracy for audit readiness.
  • Monitor study documentation for changes in staff, approval status, or other requests that may require changes to the study protocol, contract, or budget.
  • Verify and maintain CRM software with study investigator and required information.
  • Assist with preparation of study materials as required.
  • Assist with procurement and shipping of study test materials/equipment.
  • Process requests for study payments where applicable.
  • Prepare, mail, and keep record of payments and invoices to study sites.
  • Organize and maintain records of equipment request proposals, loaner agreements, and annual equipment use reports.
  • Organize and maintain a log of shipped and returned research equipment.
  • Provide general support to the Clinical Research team, as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with monthly/quarterly department meetings and external meetings, as required.
  • Manage FedEx and USPS accounts for clinical research department.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required to ensure departmental efficiency.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of clinical research education, training, and experience
  • Background in biological sciences or related field and/or CCRP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of GCP guidelines
  • Good organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Positive team attitude, assisting and supporting other MED-EL team members by contributing to the solution of problems.
  • Must maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule to best accommodate efficiency of research needs.
  • Located within - or willing to relocate to – Durham, NC
